Lastly, I want to read The Shadow of the Gods by John Gwynne to fulfil the “dragons” prompt. I can’t wait to see how the author centres women’s experiences in this incredibly androcentric tale. Half Sick of Shadows by Laura Sebastian has “shadow” in the title it’s a feminist Arthurian retelling. I also decided to join the Massive Readathon: All Roads Lead to Terrasen! Two of the prompts correspond perfectly with books from my Up Next Shelf. I’m finally getting around to reading The Death of Vivek Oji by Akwaeke Emezi! May was also the month that I completed my first reading journal! I use the Notebook Therapy A5 notebooks, which are 176 pages. I’m trying to get better at reading the books I buy, but it’s still a work in progress. I’m proud to report that only four books from that haul are still unread as I write this in July.
